County Championship – Somerset seek first-innings lead, Essex in command against Notts

Leicestershire are all out for 268 in their first innings at Lord’s with Tom Helm (3-62) and Ollie Rayner (4-58) taking seven wickets between them for Middlesex, who have just begun their second innings with a lead of 81.

Glamorgan are following on at Newport after being dismissed for 250 in their first innings by Gloucestershire, for whom George Drissell took 4-83. The home side are 6-0 second time around, still 207 behind.

Worcestershire have moved 66 runs ahead of Durham at Worcester with Ben Cox unbeaten on 32 in the home side’s 339-7.

Tom Bailey has reached 60 not out for Lancashire, who are 311-6 in their first innings with Dane Vilas still there on 43. They lead Northamptonshire by 81.
